We are Dan and Janell Milligan, founders of American Speaker Company and the mad scientists behind songBirdie. Creating cool and unique things is our passion. Our Missions
Folds of Honor
Folds of Honor is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, rated a four-star charity by Charity Navigator and platinum on Guide Star, that provides educational scholarships to the families of military men and women who have fallen or been disabled while on active duty in the United States armed forces. These educational scholarships support private educational tuition and tutoring for children in grades K-12, as well as higher education tuition assistance for spouses and dependents. To date they have awarded nearly 20,000 scholarships in all 50 states and some US territories. We are a proud supporter of this amazing organization and honored to be a part of their ever expanding grassroots movement.
We have joined the fight against global poverty by focusing on the livelihoods of families looking to create a better future for themselves and their communities. That is why we have partnered with Kiva, an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Rather than a hand out, microloans invest in individuals with a dream and a desire to work hard who don’t have access to traditional sources of capital. And because it’s a loan, not a donation, those same funds are recycled over and over, multiplying the impact it has on countless families and communities around the world. We’re helping hard working, motivated, and industrious people realize their dream for a better life, all made possible by our loyal customers.
